About Us

For over 10 years, ShelterBox has provided immediate humanitarian aid after earthquakes, tsunamis, floods, landslides, hurricanes, typhoons, volcanoes and armed conflict across the globe.

This experience, alongside our training provision for more than 150 international ShelterBox Response Team members, puts Shelterbox in an ideal position to help advance learning and development in the international disaster management community – helping ensure the world's most vulnerable people get the most effective help when they most need it.

What does the Academy do?
The International Academy of Disaster Relief is ShelterBox's disaster relief work taken 'outside of the box.' The Academy is therefore a vital component in driving ShelterBox towards its target of helping half a million people every year.

How will the Academy grow?

Delivering lifesaving humanitarian aid and providing shelter, warmth & dignity to the families that have lost everything in a disaster, is truly a privilege that no-one can ever forget.

ShelterBox empowers SRT response team members to do whatever is needed to help families devastated by a disaster. Becoming an SRT is for most of us, is truly a life changing experience.
